Adam Weisbart is an Agile Coach and Certified Scrum Trainer based in Washington State, who helps organizations deliver high quality software with predictability and happiness. He offers coaching and consulting as well as both public and private classes.
With over 19 years of experience in the tech trenches, Adam has written code as an individual contributor, run teams as a manager, and managed companies as an entrepreneur. His clients have included Oracle, Symantec, Hewlett Packard, and Pfizer. Since seeing the light of Scrum he has focused on helping teams embrace it — all in the name of transparency, innovation, and increased happiness.
Adam operated his own Agile web application development consultancy, WebGlow, as CEO for almost a decade. He worked as a Team Lead then Senior Engineering Group Manager at LiveWorld, Inc, inventing a new product line, introducing the company to new technologies, and handling tactician and strategist duties. From there, Adam took a position as Deputy Director of Agile Practice at Granicus, Inc., transforming the way the company developed products. While he had seen the light of Scrum long before then, this position marked his ascension to the heights of Agile instruction and facilitation.
Since that stage of his career, Adam has worked as an Agile Coach for Agile Learning Labs, as a Certified Scrum Trainer for CollabNet, Inc. and for himself (and you) as the force with which to be reckoned at Weisbart Consulting.
Adam is passionate about teaching. He has created numerous innovative modules on Scrum that have been used by Certified Scrum Trainers around the world for companies including Intel and Expedia. His training approach is interactive and immersive. He finds both humor and respectful informality make life and work regularly more appealing.
When Adam isn’t teaching, he enjoys cycling, climbing, improvisational comedy, inserting joke entries in sequential lists, and making trouble. He lives outside of Seattle with his wife and young daughter, and loves writing about himself in 3rd person.
Speaking Engagements
Adam Weisbart is available to speak at your conference or event. He regularly travels to speak, present keynotes, and to lead breakout sessions and interactive programming at both public and private gatherings.
Whether you’re looking to have Adam tailor a keynote around your specific event theme or want him to pull from his existing bag of tricks, that’s a conversation we’re happy to engage in.
Adam is not just a coach — he is a master. In fact, I suspect Adam is part Yoda, part Phil Jackson, and part Talleyrand, blending zen-like mastery, outstanding coaching, and great diplomacy to deliver pretty much exactly what we were looking for.”
While Collective Health had been using “scrum” for over 2 years, as the company scaled it was clear we were not being as successful as we needed to be with our processes. Adam came in and provided custom training for over 50 people representing a cross-section of engineer, product and design as well as followup help that not only got great feedback from the people who did the training but has already increased team velocity, reduced stress and brought alignment across the teams. Adam’s combination of information and hands on exercises not only got the teams aligned but also gave them the tools to continue to identify issues and improve.
I can’t reiterate enough how much of an impact you have made on our organization through your keynote, workshop, and interactions with our people in the very short time you were here, and our team is excited to ride the wave of enthusiasm and interest you have injected in our culture as we ready ourselves to expand the agile mindset across deeper corners of the enterprise.
Connect with the Scrum or Agile training, coaching, or consulting program that’s right for you and your company. Whether you’re looking for an introduction to Scrum or personalized mentoring, Adam and his team are never far from a smartphone. Reach out and we’ll respond.
